Werk No.35 marks the 25th commemorative issue of the magazine. This edition is presented in a folded and gathered construction, with unbound, hand-collated signatures that open into poster-sized spreads. It offers multiple points of entry rather than a single narrative, challenging the conventions of bookmaking. This issue features a special contribution by Toronto based artist Edward Goss, known for his densely layered works in oil and coloured pencil, as well as for integrating found materials such as paper, cardboard, adhesive tape, and collage. His practice is grounded in gestures of repetition, scouring, scraping, and overlay, a visual language rooted in neo-expressionism and bricolage. His work frequently draws on motifs of letters and symbolic forms, creating a private lexicon that bridges the gap between abstraction and meaning.

The collection, “Sport Icons Re-Crafted,” reinterprets elements of traditional sports uniforms through the craftsmanship of BATONER and the design philosophy of Tokyo Design Studio New Balance. Using BATONER’s signature 7-gauge knit with recycled functional yarn, it expresses a balance of comfort, functionality, and refined form. The yellow accents, inspired by New Balance’s 1990s Procare Program, represent a continuous pursuit of fit and quality.

”Synthesis” by Mari Katayama: Spanning the past six years—a period marked by the birth of her daughter and her return to her hometown of Gunma—this book brings together nine photographic series shot in her home studio. Each page reveals a body of work not as a fixed or completed state, but as a vital, ever-changing current of life: transforming, intertwining, and growing in all directions. This unfolding process evokes a philosophical notion of synthesis—where oppositions such as past and future, beginning and end, presence and absence coexist and ultimately transcend one another.

The volume also includes Katayama’s drawings that underpin her photographic practice, alongside newly written short essays presented in both English and Japanese.

Liliyo is a 20 year old Franco-Japanese violinist and conductor based in the Netherlands. She works closely with fashion, her latest collaboration being with Dior for whom she opened the SS 2025 collection show in Kyoto. She is currently studying in the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague and is actively touring with orchestras in Europe, playing in prestigious halls such as Concertgebouw. She has been selected for the Dreamhers mentorship program by the Swiss watchmaking house Zenith. Please join us on Saturday 25th October on 3F for a live performance throughout the day.

The experimental film "shape the space around yourself" by Antwerp-based project unkruid and Paris-based filmmaker Cassandre Lafon documents everyday scenarios in a neighbourhood in the north of Antwerp.

The short film portrays various places and spaces, such as a Turkish bakery, a flower shop, an antiquarian bookshop, a Chinese restaurant and a 100-year-old café as well as their owners. The way of portraying happens in a rather open, intuitive and improvised, sometimes performative and poetic way, leaving it to the imagination of reality and fiction.

Using a Bolex Super 16mm camera, the film documents real-life situations, that can never be recreated, as well as the movements and dynamics of the streets, and their magical in-between moments. The film captures the absurdity and beauty of everyday life and touches on themes such as memory, waiting, walking, reflecting, daydreaming, deep longings, not holding back and observing.
